Amanda Davidson OAM

CEO and Managing Partner

Amanda is brilliant at dealing with the most difficult and important client matters. As a true trusted advisor clients seek Amanda for her unique ability to combine her superb technical legal skills with the commercial objectives of her clients – especially when they are faced with extraordinarily difficult matters. Having over 30 years’ experience specialising in major infrastructure, construction and engineering projects, Amanda is both results focussed and highly skilled in helping clients navigate the myriad of issues that can arise on such projects.

Amanda’s past roles have included senior partnership and leadership positions in Australian and international large law firms. She established Davidson in 2017 as an Australian independent top tier boutique law firm, assisting clients across a range of industries.

Well known for her technical excellence and ability to innovate, Amanda works with clients throughout the lifecycle of their projects – from project inception through tendering and contract preparation, contract administration, ongoing operations and maintenance, to all forms of dispute management and resolution. She also advises on the procurement of privately funded public infrastructure, as well as other government and private sector projects.

In recent years Amanda’s focus has broadened to transaction management, governance and advisory roles for a range of matters including asset and company acquisitions, infrastructure and property development, acting for consortia including Australian and international entities, as well as assisting companies in all aspects of regulatory compliance.

As her clients will attest, Amanda excels in the conduct of major disputes. Her knowledge of construction law gained over 30 years of running major cases means that there is no matter that she does not hold the skill set to deal with. She has extensive experience in the management of disputes in the context of major construction and engineering projects, property and development, joint ventures and shareholder disputes and is regarded as a leading litigation lawyer. Amanda is also recognised as an expert at providing training and mentoring for contract administrators, project managers and other consultants.

Awarded the Order of Australia in 2015 for services to maternal health Amanda continues to chair PEARLS, a charity dedicated to raising funds to support medical research into preeclampsia, the most common complication of pregnancy, and the biggest killer of mothers and babies in the world today.

Elisabeth Maryanov

Senior Consultant

Elisabeth is a consummate construction lawyer. Having spent over 20 years in major Australian law firms leading teams on large scale disputes, Elisabeth now specialises in all forms of dispute resolution as well as contract administration and transaction management for projects. Elisabeth has an extremely broad range of expertise in all forms of dispute resolution, including litigation, mediation, arbitration, expert determination, adjudication and a variety of hybrid forms.

Highly respected for her strategic and pragmatic approach, Elisabeth works alongside client teams to help manage potentially contentious issues so as to reduce the prospect of those issues becoming protracted disputes. Having held numerous leadership positions, Elisabeth has advised on a variety of technical and complicated issues, attaining many successful outcomes and is also highly experienced in advising clients in relation to project documents.

Bringing her vast experience as a litigator to the table in contract drafting and negotiation, Elisabeth is also a leader in all aspects of transaction design and contract drafting and negotiation for projects of all types.

Acting for both principals and contractors Elisabeth has achieved valuable experience working side-by-side with some of her more significant clients on a trusted in-house basis.

Elisabeth has spoken at a variety of seminars and conferences, and has written numerous articles on construction law issues. She is also on the editorial panel of the Australian Construction Law Bulletin. In 2016, Elisabeth was named in the Doyles Guide as a Rising Star – Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution – Leading Lawyers.

Peter J Williams

Senior Consultant

Peter is a civil engineer, a registered builder, and one of Australia’s most respected senior construction executives with over 40 years’ experience in project delivery in Australia and offshore. Peter’s stellar career has included senior roles for a number of Australian contractors, including as General Manager for AJ Lucas Engineering as well as General Manager, Northern Region for Leighton Contractors. Peter works with clients to assist in development and implementation of business strategy and improvement in processes and bottom line project outcomes.
